Stone Fabricators for Six Generations

Adam Ross, a penniless stonecutter from Aberdeen, Scotland, came to America around 1880. Making his way slowly up the Hudson River from New York City, he eventually established a small cut stone business in Troy. Using little more than a hammer and chisel, he often labored every day for 10 hours, and soon became a familiar site along the river, delivering stone by horse-drawn wagon to a growing number of customers who admired his diligence and skill.

With Adam's son entering the business, orders increased, necessitating a move to larger quarters in North Albany. Although the facilities have been greatly expanded and modernized through the years, our business is still located at that same North Albany location.

Today, Adam Ross Cut Stone Inc. continues to stand by our family name and tradition. Any business can say they put their customers first, but at Adam Ross we mean it. We hold ourselves to the highest standards to meet your expectations for quality and service. Our reputation and most importantly the trust we've earned from our customers speaks for itself. We are fully committed to working with you to find practical and effective solutions for all your stone needs.

Policies

Our sales associates are happy to accompany you through our fabrication facility, and assist with your selections. Due to safety and practicality issues, an appointment is required to move any slab for viewing in its entirety. Please keep in mind that children are not permitted in the shop area.

Services

Custom Cut Stone

Custom cut stone of any variety is our specialty here. We fabricate hearths, mantles, thresholds, sills, capstones, vanities, and more. Customers are welcome to view our collection of whole slabs and remnants, either by walk-in or appointment. We can also work with customer stock, if a client has their own material that they want to use. Otherwise, our experts will work with you to pick out the material that best suits your needs, then fabricate the desired product with the utmost care and precision.

Countertops

We offer natural stones including but not limited to marble, granite, quartzite, and soapstone. We also carry a variety of man-made quartz products, including such brands as Caesarstone, Silestone, PentalQuartz, and Wilsonart. You can choose from any of these products, or even use your own material. Our experts will work with you from start to finish, from helping you pick out the best material for your needs, to onsite templating, to fabrication, to installation and ending with one satisfied customer! Please allow 3-4 weeks fabrication time after templating is completed before the counter will be installed.

Repairs and Restorations

We complete a variety of repairs and restoration jobs on all sorts of stone pieces. We can clean aged stone, repair cracks and chips, and replace missing parts on statues. To name just a few examples, we have replaced a finger on a Buddha statue, restored several baptismal fonts, and replaced the head on a duck statue.

Stock Items

While we fabricate stone to meet your needs, we also carry a selection of stock materials. This includes bluestone treads in a variety of dimensions, an assortment of square, rectangular, and irregular flagging, granite curbs, stone veneer, river stones, and cultured (imitation) stone. NOTE: while we love seeing our customers, it can be helpful for you to call before you come in when looking for a very particular item, or a large quantity.

Stone Care and Maintenance

Typically, we will NOT go onsite to do cleaning or maintenance on stone. However, we offer top quality products for sale so that you can keep your stone in top-notch condition! The sealant product that we offer for natural stone countertops is the 314P Premium Stone Impregnator, by GranQuartz. We offer the 353P Porous Stone Impregnator for other stone surfaces, such as stones that are outdoors, or indoor hearths and mantles which do not require food-grade sealants.
